9:00 - 15:30 on October 4th Bushuis, Kloveniersburgwal 48, 1012 CX Amsterdam.

Following the Autumn School, there will be a symposium with (international) experts in the field focussing on current developments in cognitive computational neuroscience and AI. We are happy to announce the following speakers:

  • Radek M. Cichy - Freie Universität Berlin - Deep neural networks as scientific models
  • Sander M. Bohté - National Research Institute for Mathematics and Computer Science (CWI), University of Amsterdam - Computing behavior with Spiking Neurons
  • Kate Storrs - Justus-Liebig Universität Giessen - Unsupervised Learning of Object Material and Shape from Images and Videos
  • Tim C. Kietzmann - MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, University of Cambridge, Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition & Behavior - From pixels to semantics – using deep learning to generate insight into neural computations
  • Marcel van Gerven, Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition & Behavior, Radboud University Nijmegen - Building Artificial Cognitive Systems
  • Noor Seijdel, University of Amsterdam - DNImals: implicit scene segmentation in deeper convolutional neural networks

For EPOS members, entrance to the symposium will be included in the programme of the Autumn School, and they are not required to register for the symposium separately. Other visitors can register for the symposium using the normal registration form. The symposium is free of charge, and will be followed by drinks.

Update: the maximum number of participants for the Symposium has been reached. It is unfortunately not possible to register anymore.

Update: We will be serving lunch for all the attendants! After the symposium, we will have drinks and continue the discussion at ‘De Bekeerde Suster’.
